20 hours of programming, 9 cities in Poland and 1 passion! The registration for the night hackathon Let’s Code has started on October 1st. On November 17th the teams of IT enthusiast will compete for the winning title and prizes at the local stage. Best teams from the first stage will have the opportunity to participate in the global stage and win PLN 10 000.
Let’s Code, the overnight contest for programmers, will take place for the 5th time. It consists of two stages – local and global. This year, at the local stage, the teams will have the chance to compete in 9 Sii locations throughout Poland, including Warsaw, Gdańsk, Wrocław, Poznań, Kraków, Łódź, Lublin, Katowice and Rzeszów. The winner of the global stage will be chosen by online voting among the best teams from the first stage.
At the local stage, the goal of the teams is to create an application in 20 hours. The app has to fit one of three themes: business, passion or social responsibility. The jury from Sii will consist of specialists representing business, programming and project management and will be responsible for the proper course of the hackathon.
The best applications from the local stage will be published on the dedicated website. The winner of the global stage will be chosen in an online voting, which will last for 5 days. The main prize is worth fighting for – it is PLN 10 000.
During the last year’s edition of Let’s Code, teams created 60 applications. Over a short period of time the participants proved their knowledge, creativity and good organization. A noticeable trend is the fact that the quality of applications is getting better every year. In the previous edition 25 teams competed In the global voting. The winning title was awarded to the Gloo team from Lublin for the Petalert app, which helps finding a missing pet.
Every year, the hackathon organized by Sii is becoming more popular. Last year 350 IT enthusiasts created 107 registered teams. In comparison to the previous edition, the number of participants increased and the level of interest of the media and local patrons increased by 345%.
Registration of teams runs from October 1st to November 10th at a dedicated website. Do not wait because the number of places is limited. The participation in the event is free.
