The first edition of BI Connected conference is behind us!
On October 6th, the first Sii conference dedicated entirely to Business Intelligence was held in Wroclaw. Participants of the event took part in 9 sessions about the latest technologies in the area of BI.
The BI Connected conference was dedicated to experienced Business Intelligence developers and consultants. The event was started by Maciej Grabowski representing Sii, who filled the participants in the subject of designing and powering the data warehouse using ETL. Then the speech about advanced data analysis in SQL Server using R and Python was conducted by well-known in the BI society Łukasz Grala.
Subject area was very wide. There were the lectures concerned, among others, Data Vault 2.0, Azure Notebooks, Power BI or the use of In-memory mechanisms in SQL Server. Technical speeches were interspersed with presentations showing Business Intelligence from a different perspective, like the session of prof. Jack Cypryjański entitled “Why children in Poland are born less often at weekends and other regularities regarding birth dates based on PESEL database”.
The conference was a great opportunity for networking, technical discussions and industry meetings. Participants of the event were also able to talk with the representatives of Business Intelligence Competence Center operating in Sii about BI projects run by the company. – High level of the presentations, guests from all over Poland and interesting discussions during the breaks of the event – we can definitely consider the first edition of BI Connected to be successful.
