One of the best examples of this kind of partnership is the relationship between Sii and the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw.
Read the interview to learn how this collaboration works in practice and what are the effects.

As the Faculty’s Gold Partner, Sii has supported students and academic staff for years, creating spaces that foster learning and work – such as a modern coworking zone and a computer lab used by students and faculty members on a daily basis. Sii also organizes numerous events, creating opportunities to share knowledge and experience.

In this conversation, Wiktoria Wawrzyszko, University Cooperation Manager at Sii, speaks with representatives of the Faculty of Management: Vice-Dean for Development Igor Postuła, PhD, Professor at the University of Warsaw; Dean of the Faculty Professor Grzegorz Karasiewicz, PhD; Aleksandra Skałbania, Chair of the Student Council; and Sii Poland representatives: Agata Kraszewska and Marek Hewelke.

Wiktoria: What had the biggest impact on the decision to start the cooperation between the Faculty and Sii?

Igor Postuła, PhD, Professor at the University of Warsaw, Vice-Dean for Development at the Faculty of Management:

The Faculty of Management decided to cooperate with Sii because they are a partner that genuinely supports our mission of connecting academic education with business practice. For us, working with Sii is a strategic step towards building an environment where academia and business create real, everyday synergy.

Marek Hewelke, Senior Regional Director at Sii Poland:

We look for people with different levels of expertise and professional experience, but who are always ambitious, reliable, and eager to grow – both personally and within the organization they join. When it comes to business graduates, the answer to the question “where to find them?” was clear: among students and alumni of the most reputable faculties – and the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw is certainly one of them.

We began our cooperation in 2023 by creating a coworking zone for students in the Faculty building, a space for shared study or simply resting between classes.

Every few months, our experts conduct lectures for students at the University of Warsaw interested in topics such as the use of new technologies in business – for example Microsoft Power BI – as well as agile methodologies for managing business and IT projects. We also share our experience in employer branding. At the same time, we take part in the Faculty’s job fairs, where we promote our company and talk to students to better understand their plans and challenges.

Wiktoria: Such a broad scope of cooperation surely brings real value to both sides.

Professor Grzegorz Karasiewicz, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw:

Our cooperation with Sii Poland is extremely valuable because it is a genuine partnership between academia and business. It’s not just a statement on paper, but a relationship visible in the everyday life of our Faculty. In a world where technological and organizational changes happen at lightning speed, we need partners who help us better understand the practical side of these processes. Sii brings a fresh perspective, market experience, and expert knowledge that complement our academic strengths.

What I personally appreciate most is mutual trust. Sii is a partner that keeps its promises, acts consistently, and thinks long-term. Thanks to this, we can implement initiatives that genuinely prepare students for their future careers.

Wiktoria: Marek, how important is it for Sii to be part of the UW academic community?

Marek Hewelke, Senior Regional Director at Sii Poland:

On the one hand, we promote the Sii brand. Students get to know us personally – during job fairs or events such as the academic year inauguration. As a result, we see an increasing interest in our job offers, which translates into more hires.

Another important aspect is responsible business. The truth is that most students using the computer lab funded by Sii will not end up working for us. Although we would be glad if they did, our company isn’t growing fast enough to hire such a large number of graduates.

But contributing to the education process still matters to us. Businesses should support universities in educating future professionals, and universities should maintain high-quality teaching – for the benefit of all.

Wiktoria: Mr. Dean, you often mention that our partnership has a unique character. What makes Sii stand out?

Professor Grzegorz Karasiewicz, PhD:

What I value most is the authenticity and genuinely collaborative nature of this partnership. From the very beginning, we felt that both sides were equally engaged and shared the same goal – supporting the development of future leaders and specialists.

This is not a “sponsor-university” model. It’s a relationship based on dialogue, understanding, and joint action. I also appreciate the high level of professionalism and the culture of cooperation demonstrated by Sii representatives. They are simply great to work with – respectful, open, and full of positive energy.

Wiktoria: From Sii’s perspective, where do you see the biggest potential for further cooperation?

Agata Kraszewska, Senior Regional Recruitment Manager at Sii Poland:

In recent years, Sii has been hiring more and more finance specialists within our Business Services Competency Center. Graduates of the Faculty of Management are excellent specialists and strong candidates for roles such as Junior Operations Specialist.

Each year, the demand for such experts grows across our client projects, so we truly hope to expand our cooperation in this area.

Last year alone, Sii hired more than 20 students and graduates of the Faculty, which shows that we offer great opportunities for young, passionate people eager to grow.

Our experts share their knowledge during lectures and workshops on finance, business analytics, and marketing.

Wiktoria: How does cooperation with Sii help students prepare for the realities of the job market?

Professor Grzegorz Karasiewicz, PhD:

Working with Sii helps students move from “learning about work” to “participating in work.” It gives them a chance to see how modern organizations truly operate, which competences are in demand, and what challenges businesses face today.

Thanks to Sii’s active presence – through Career Day, workshops, lectures, and expert meetings – students gain knowledge and experience that go far beyond the traditional curriculum. They learn not only tools and processes, but also about the ways of thinking and workplace culture, which is essential in modern organizations.

Wiktoria: Now the student perspective – Ms. Skałbania, as Chair of the Student Council, how do students view the cooperation with Sii?

Aleksandra Skałbania, Chair of the Student Council, University of Warsaw:

I think Sii is a company that you can simply “feel” on campus – not anonymous but genuinely present in our day-to-day university life. Students actively use the spaces created together with Sii – the computer lab and the coworking zone, and they take part in events and workshops.

For young people, contact with practitioners who speak openly about challenges, mistakes, and the reality of the market is invaluable. This kind of honesty builds trust and a sense that the university and business really are moving in the same direction.

Wiktoria: One of the most visible outcomes of our cooperation is the new, modern spaces on campus. Ms. Skałbania, how are they used today?

Aleksandra Skałbania, Chair of the Student Council, University of Warsaw:

The computer lab and coworking area created by Sii have significantly improved the comfort and quality of learning. Students use these spaces not only during classes, but also for group projects and individual work.

Many of them combine studies with part-time jobs, so they value having a convenient, well-equipped place that supports both focus and collaboration. Faculty members also notice the positive impact – these spaces serve as modern teaching facilities and as areas that integrate students and staff, creating a friendly, inspiring academic environment.

Wiktoria: And from the Faculty leadership’s perspective – how are these spaces used?

Professor Grzegorz Karasiewicz, PhD:

The most valuable initiatives are those that truly change the everyday life of our academic community. The computer lab and coworking zone funded by Sii certainly fall into that category. These are not just investments in infrastructure – they are investments in the quality of education and the day-to-day experience of our students.

These spaces are alive. Students use them for individual work, team projects, consultations, and meetings with practitioners. To me, they symbolize a new type of university-business cooperation, based on trust, shared vision, and an understanding that a good learning environment is also a well-designed physical space.

Wiktoria: Speaking of tangible outcomes – how does Sii’s presence at UW impact talent development and recruitment?

Marek Hewelke, Senior Regional Director at Sii Poland:

Thanks largely to our partnership with the Faculty of Management, we have built a team of more than 30 people who are now working on a project for one of our banking clients. Our employees – recent graduates of the Faculty – are responsible for structuring data in the bank’s systems and verifying their completeness and compliance with legal requirements.

One major challenge was to increase the team size by around 20 people within just a few weeks – and thanks to our strong presence among students and graduates, we managed to achieve that. We hope that those who began their careers in consulting through this project will go far.

The cooperation between Sii Polska and the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw shows how much can be achieved through a real, long-term partnership between business and academia. Thanks to the commitment of both sides, we are building initiatives that genuinely influence the job market while supporting the education of the next generation of specialists. And this is just the beginning – new projects are already ahead of us, connecting the world of science with business practice and opening new career paths for students in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.

[6201
post-135042","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-interview
