How can you prepare for a job interview? Is artificial intelligence really changing the everyday work of developers, testers, and engineers? Participants of this year\u2019s Open Days at Sii found answers to these and many other questions.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The events took place at the turn of April and May in 7 locations:\u00a0Gda\u0144sk, Lublin, Pozna\u0144, Warsaw,\u00a0\u0141\u00f3d\u017a, Katowice, and Krak\u00f3w. The meetings brought together 210 participants\u00a0interested in\u00a0starting a career in IT, developing technical skills,\u00a0and\u00a0learning more about\u00a0the opportunities\u00a0Sii\u00a0offers to young talents.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The goal&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;to&nbsp;see&nbsp;technology&nbsp;in practice<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n<p>One part of the event&nbsp;was dedicated to the real-life aspects of working in IT.&nbsp;Sii&nbsp;experts showed that starting a career in technology means more than knowing the basics of coding. What matters is readiness to learn,&nbsp;understanding&nbsp;the software development process, the ability to ask questions,&nbsp;and awareness of&nbsp;what&nbsp;working in a project team looks like.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>During the meetings, participants could explore different development paths&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;from programming and testing to artificial intelligence and machine learning. Another important topic was the practical use of AI in specialists\u2019 daily work&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;as a tool&nbsp;for analysis, design, automation, and the solution of&nbsp;specific problems.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>The speakers shared project experience, talked about their everyday tasks,&nbsp;and showed how diverse a technology career can be. This helped participants better understand which skills are worth developing now and which directions&nbsp;are&nbsp;most interesting&nbsp;to&nbsp;them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Recruitment behind the scenes: CV, interview,&nbsp;and soft skills<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n<p>As part of the career development sessions,&nbsp;Sii&nbsp;experts explained how to make a CV stand out,&nbsp;build a personal brand,&nbsp;and prepare for a job interview.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>Participants could&nbsp;view&nbsp;the recruitment process from the perspective of specialists who work with candidates&nbsp;daily. They learned what attracts recruiters\u2019 attention, what mistakes most often appear in CVs,&nbsp;and why technical skills alone are not always enough.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>There were also discussions about soft skills. Communication, a growth mindset, teamwork,&nbsp;and openness to feedback often&nbsp;determine&nbsp;how well a candidate fits into a team. Experts emphasized that in IT, current knowledge is important, but so is the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conversation&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>that<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;mattered most<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n<p>Although the agenda included&nbsp;lectures&nbsp;and practical tips, one of the greatest values of Open Days was the opportunity to speak directly with&nbsp;Sii&nbsp;employees. Participants actively asked questions, discussed their&nbsp;future plans, cleared up any&nbsp;doubts,&nbsp;and experienced the company\u2019s working atmosphere.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>For people taking their first steps in IT, such&nbsp;networking sessions&nbsp;can be an important source of guidance. They help show that a career in IT does not always start with a ready-made plan. Often, it begins with curiosity, first projects, conversations with more experienced people,&nbsp;and the decision to follow this path.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What did&nbsp;participants&nbsp;say?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n<p>This year\u2019s Open Days were particularly appreciated for their practical nature, the opportunity to see Sii\u2019s work from the inside,&nbsp;and the atmosphere that could be felt from the very first moments in the office.&nbsp;They also valued the&nbsp;well-organized format&nbsp;of the meetings, the clear division into thematic blocks,&nbsp;and the opportunity to meet teams during the office tour.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>Read some of the impressions from Open Days participants:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-nsw-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI was really impressed by the opportunity to see the office and the space where\u00a0Sii\u00a0teams work every day. From the moment I entered, I could feel that the company cares about its employees and gives them many opportunities for development,\u201d\u00a0&#8211; says Adam.\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-nsw-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cTaking part in\u00a0an\u00a0Open Day helped me better understand how important specific skills are today\u00a0\u2013\u00a0both those related to artificial intelligence and those connected with preparing for\u00a0the\u00a0recruitment\u00a0process. After the\u00a0lecture sessions, I\u00a0was sure\u00a0that AI is becoming increasingly important, and that a well-prepared CV can really influence a recruiter\u2019s first impression,\u201d\u00a0 &#8211; comments Julia.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-nsw-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI really liked the organization of the event and the division into thematic blocks. The office tour was\u00a0a great opportunity\u00a0to meet different teams, hear a short story about their work,\u00a0and better imagine what everyday life at\u00a0Sii\u00a0looks like,\u201d\u00a0\u00a0&#8211; says Piotr.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-invert-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-invert-background-color has-background is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>With the future in mind<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n<p>For&nbsp;Sii, Open Days are more than&nbsp;an&nbsp;initiative aimed at people taking their first steps in the job market.
