Since the<\/span> <\/span>first projects<\/span>, <\/span>Sii Poland\u2019s<\/span> experience has been quite cross-cutting<\/span>. <\/span>The company <\/span> <\/span>has <\/span>continued<\/span> <\/span>cooperation with <\/span>the <\/span>leading <\/span>semiconductor chip manufacturer and <\/span>has <\/span>worked with <\/span>the <\/span>world\u2019s largest consumer electronics producer on design and implementation of solutions for 5G networking such as 5G. <\/span>Moreover, <\/span>Sii<\/span> ha<\/span>s<\/span> partnered <\/span>with a <\/span>Dutch global semiconductor manufacturer<\/span> in the design of new solutions of key firmware components for smartcard and\u202fNFC chipsets. <\/span>The <\/span>Polish leader has <\/span>also<\/span> worked <\/span>with a <\/span>top automotive technology solutions provider to design embedded software a<\/span>s well as <\/span>develop and test automotive systems connected with efficiency<\/span> of vehicles<\/span>, entertainment and safety. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013<\/span> <\/span>R&D projects are exciting and unpredictable<\/span>, often referred to as <\/span>the projects of the future. Everything that is certain today can dramatically change tomorrow. R&D projects need extra attention<\/span>. This might<\/span> mean choosing a team of experienced specialists, with <\/span>very<\/span> particular expertise in technology, industry and <\/span>often even certain solutions <\/span>to<\/span> be further developed<\/span>. <\/span>Thanks to <\/span>16 <\/span>Competency Centers, <\/span>Sii Poland<\/span> ha<\/span>s<\/span> <\/span>cross-<\/span>technological <\/span>capabilities<\/span> to deal with any challenge<\/span>s, including engineering, <\/span>embedded systems, IoT or machine learning<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>teams work in customized project spaces, within separate, protected IT infrastructure and internet connection to ensure <\/span>both <\/span>physical<\/span> and<\/span> intellectual property security. <\/span>Sii<\/span> <\/span>spaces meet highest security requirements and expectations \u2013 <\/span>Sii<\/span> Poland is certified with <\/span>the <\/span>Common <\/span>Criteria ISO 15408 standard<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, in many projects <\/span>Sii<\/span> engineers require specialist equipment on <\/span>a<\/span> daily basis, which <\/span>sometimes <\/span>means <\/span>building a separate lab. Currently<\/span>,<\/span> such labs operate in 4 Sii <\/span>office <\/span>locations. <\/span>One<\/span> of them <\/span>has been<\/span> prepared to service project teams working <\/span>for<\/span> <\/span>the <\/span>chip <\/span>manufacturing giant\u2019s<\/span> project<\/span>s<\/span>,<\/span> <\/span>connected with<\/span> data cente<\/span>r, servers and <\/span>networking<\/span>. Right now, at a Sii lab, <\/span>the <\/span>engineers work on server platforms that will be used by the biggest social media service in the world. <\/span>Sii<\/span> Power people<\/span> help improve the internet \u2013 the networking projects involve routers and switches used in global communication. <\/span>In a<\/span>nother<\/span> <\/span>lab <\/span>the <\/span>global semiconductor manufacture<\/span>r\u2019<\/span>s most innovative solutions<\/span> are designed<\/span>. <\/span>The third lab is used to find pioneering solutions in biotechnology, and <\/span>Sii <\/span>ha<\/span>s<\/span> built two more for <\/span>innovation<\/span> for <\/span>the <\/span>automotive and rail industry.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Sp<\/span><\/b>e<\/span><\/b>cialist projects<\/span><\/b> prove <\/span><\/b>Sii\u2019s<\/span><\/b> expertise<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

All those special <\/span>projects environments were <\/span>build<\/span> to enable delivery of<\/span> <\/span>solutions<\/span> such as<\/span> <\/span>the<\/span> <\/span>management system for smart home devices<\/span><\/a> for an intelligent living solutions provider.<\/span> <\/span>In order to develop and later<\/span> <\/span>i<\/span>ncrease the functionality <\/span>of the system, our engineers created a local system server application and user interface application, as well as h<\/span>elp<\/span>ed<\/span> design and implement new functionalities inside of existing software packages<\/span>. As a result, the users<\/span> are<\/span> able to<\/span> integrat<\/span>e<\/span> multiple external devices <\/span>through <\/span>electric lines and Ethernet network<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Another project worth mentioning is the one completed for the American semiconductor supplier<\/span> and<\/span> <\/span>leader in Bluetooth Low Energy solutions. Their <\/span>Bluetooth<\/span> chip is being provided along with the S<\/span>oftware <\/span>D<\/span>evelopment <\/span>K<\/span>it<\/span> to allow their customers <\/span>to <\/span>quick<\/span>ly<\/span> develo<\/span>p<\/span> specific functionalities. <\/span>As a result of our project, <\/span>the <\/span>SDK offered by our client has been extended with new drivers<\/span> or<\/span> sample applications<\/span>,<\/span> which now makes it even easier for the<\/span> user<\/span> to create their own project<\/span>s<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

For Sii Poland, the most important of the recently completed <\/span>R&D <\/span>projects is the one<\/span> <\/span>connected with Data Lake<\/span> <\/span>that <\/span>we worked on with Ingenico<\/span> \u2013 <\/span>a world-leading provider of electronic <\/span>payment <\/span>solutions and services<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span>In today\u2019s information economy, data has become the primary assets for organizations. And Ingenico is perhaps the gr<\/span>e<\/span>ates<\/span>t<\/span> example of this given <\/span>the <\/span>exponentially growing volume of transaction data and information that need to be processed <\/span>in <\/span>real<\/span> <\/span>time.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 <\/span>Since 2017, <\/span>the <\/span>Sii Poland expert project team together with Ingenico teams have been innovating to enhance the way growing amount of payment transactions data is stored and managed by Ingenico. On a higher level, our teams <\/span>concentrated<\/span> on designing and developing solutions based on Hadoop framework<\/span>,<\/span> with focus on Spark real-time processing and NoSQL databases<\/span> \u2013 says <\/span>Grzegorz Trepka, Business Manager<\/span><\/b> at Sii Poland<\/span>, working with Ingenico<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The project is important for Ingenico because it brings enhancements at <\/span>both, <\/span>the technological level <\/span>– <\/span>as the <\/span>novel <\/span>solution is future-proof and meets aggressive performance SLAs<\/span> <\/span>and at the business level <\/span>because the <\/span>newly created system is an enabler for new features and additional value added services Ingenico could benefit from.<\/span> <\/span>There is one additional benefit. Thanks to the Tax Research Credit accreditation obtained by <\/span>Sii<\/span> Poland, <\/span>our <\/span>French <\/span>clients, including Ingenico, can <\/span>claim substantive tax relief on their research and development expenses outsourced to <\/span>Sii<\/span> Poland. Effectively it means they <\/span>can accelerate innovation even further as their R&D budgets can be bigger by up to 30%. <\/span>\u2013<\/span> I\u2019m really delighted that the CIR certification has been granted <\/span>to Sii Poland for this project <\/span>by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation<\/span>. It not only allows our French partners to benefit from the R&D tax schemes but also certifies our maturity and <\/span>R&D <\/span>capabilities to make substantial advancements in contemporary technological challenges<\/span> \u2013 <\/span>adds <\/span>Grzegorz Trepka<\/span><\/b>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
