188 participants listened to 16 Sii experts, who provided 12 hours of substantive presentations in 6 polish cities \u2013 this is how the second edition of the Women in IT meet-up could be summarised in short. The free tickets were out in a few days.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The second edition of the technological event, which is dedicated to female IT enthusiasts, took place on March 22nd<\/sup> in 6 Sii offices \u2013 in Cracow, Warsaw, Lodz, Gdansk, Katowice and Wroclaw. The total number of 188 women attended the event. The Sii experts shared practical knowledge in the field of programming, Agile, Business Intelligence and testing. The quality of the presentations was highly evaluated by the participants.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Sii recognizes the value of women\u2019s presence and their development in IT. The huge interest in the meetup dedicated to women exceeded our highest expectations. The free tickets were out in a few days, which indicates a high demand for such events \u2013 says Martyna Kalicka, one of the organizers of Women in IT in Sii Warsaw.<\/p>\n

The variety of topics of proposed by the speakers is very vast. In Gdansk, Anna Szopi\u0144ska, Service Delivery Manager, explained \u201cHow (not to) do projects in Agile\/Scrum\u201d. In Lodz Joanna Goss, Test Coordinator, answered the question \u201cIs the tester always a black sheep in the project?\u201d. One of the subjects in Cracow was \u201cScrum in non-scrum projects\u201d performed by Marlena Bielak, Junior Project Manager. In Warsaw, participants were be able to learn more about \u201cProject Management \u2013 Release Management similarities and differences\u201d from Ma\u0142gorzata Kotlarska-W\u0105sacz, Project Manager. In Wroclaw Dobrochna \u017buk has shared share her knowledge from the perspective of a \u201cScrum tester\u201d. In Katowice Alicja Smolnik, Software Engineer, has shared the \u201cThings that I would like to know before I started programming\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Women in IT powered by Sii is one of many events organized by Sii with the purpose of exchanging knowledge and developing the employees skills. In all branches of Sii, many trainings and cyclical meetings lead by Sii expers are organised. The company finances also the individual passions within the Passions Sponsorship Program.<\/p>\n

\u2013 We support our employees not only in exchanging knowledge, but also in what they do after hours. Last year we donated 300 thousand PLN to the Passions Sponsorship Program. Currently we are are collecting application for a new edition of the Program and I am certain that this time the ideas will be even more spectacular, than previously \u2013 explains Katarzyna Doma\u0144ska, CSR Manager at Sii.<\/p>\n
