In 2022–2023, the logistics sector operated under exceptional pressure. Q-commerce and same-day delivery raised expectations for delivery speed. Inflation and rising fuel prices increased transport costs, and the high volume of post-pandemic online orders demanded more efficient handling and better fleet utilization. End customers also expected full, real-time shipment status information. At Kuehne+Nagel, however, data on drivers and shipments were dispersed – resulting in delays, higher costs, and declining recipient satisfaction. To shorten delivery times, reduce operating costs, and meet market expectations, the management entrusted the project to Sii Poland experts.
COMPREHENSIVE PLATFORM AND MIGRATION TO GOOGLE CLOUD PLATFORM (GCP)

Sii delivered the project end-to-end, combining software development, cloud migration, and 24/7 system operations.
Scope of work included:
- Designing and developing the Real-Time Geosystems (RGS) solution based on GIS technology and event processing, enabling real-time tracking of freight and shipments.
- Migrating infrastructure from AWS to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), improving stability and reducing maintenance costs.
- Building a new platform for managing bookings and transport documentation, providing full shipment visibility and improved route planning.
- Operating the RGS system 24/7 in line with agreed SLAs, including availability, security, and performance monitoring.
Stability and scalability of delivery operations
With the new solution, Kuehne+Nagel gained full control over transport processes and real-time visibility of all shipments.
Data centralization and automated monitoring improved planning, reduced delays, and enabled faster responses to supply chain disruptions. The organization increased predictability, lowered logistics costs, and ensured stable 24/7 system operations – crucial when handling thousands of transports every day.
