A rapidly growing e-commerce platform required an intranet capable of scaling with the business – from headquarters and warehouses to teams operating across international markets. Existing communication and document-sharing tools did not provide a single, clear point of access to company information, contacts, or onboarding materials.
Modivo’s goal was to create an intuitive intranet for all employees, based on SharePoint Online, with enhanced communication, knowledge base, and contact search capabilities. The platform also needed to be fully integrated with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem used daily across the organization. Additionally, the client required a review of Microsoft 365 configuration to ensure compliance and recommend optimal security and governance settings.
SharePoint Online intranet with custom directory and Viva Connections
Sii Poland delivered the project in close collaboration with Modivo’s business and technical stakeholders – from requirements analysis and information architecture design to implementation and configuration. The new intranet was built on SharePoint Online, with standard functionalities extended by custom components tailored to a fashion company operating across multiple countries.
Scope of work included:
- Information architecture design – defining site structure, navigation, and thematic sections (news, organization, HR materials, documents, tools)
- SharePoint Online implementation – configuration of sites, lists, document libraries, and templates to simplify content and permission management
- Custom employee directory – development of a centralized contact directory based on SharePoint user profiles and Delve, with intuitive search for employees and departments
- Knowledge base and document repository – creation of onboarding materials and a centralized document repository accessible to all employees
- Integration with Microsoft Teams via Viva Connections – enabling direct access to the intranet from within MS Teams, the employees’ daily work environment
- M365 configuration review and recommendations – analysis of Microsoft 365 settings and recommendations for optimal compliance and security configuration
The project was completed in just three months, in line with the agreed timeline. In a reference letter, the client highlighted the professionalism of the Sii team and the efficient delivery of the project.
Improved communication, faster onboarding, and a single source of truth
The new SharePoint Online intranet became Modivo’s central communication and collaboration platform – a place where employees can access company news, organizational information, documents, procedures, and contacts. The enhanced employee directory and integration with MS Teams make it easier to find and connect with the right people, regardless of location.
The solution also supports onboarding of new employees – thanks to a structured knowledge base and clear document repository, the time required to get up to speed is significantly reduced. From both IT and business perspectives, the use of Microsoft 365 standards simplifies further development and maintenance while ensuring compliance with organizational security policies.
Today, Modivo operates a modern, scalable intranet environment that grows with the business and supports continued expansion across European e-commerce markets.
