To meet increasing quality and production requirements, unachievable with multiple dispersed suppliers, the company sought to redesign it cooperation model and partner with an organization capable of providing an end-to end scope of services and taking full ownership of delivery. An additional challenge was the limited availability of embedded specialists on the local market, making it difficult to scale teams quickly and maintain high productivity.
Under the new approach, the company decided to entrust the entire domain of firmware development and testing to a single business partner able to ensure consistent processes, streamlined coordination, and stable engineering teams operating in a long-term model.
Sii Poland was selected thanks to its experience in projects compliant with Common Criteria EAL 6+ (one of the highest global security assurance levels) and the team of more than 500 embedded engineers covering the full lifecycle from design to testing and solution personalization.
End-to-end development and testing of embedded software
Sii Poland delivered comprehensive support across the design, development, and validation of firmware, providing full-cycle services for embedded software used in Smartcard and NFC systems.
The scope of work included:
- designing and developing key firmware components for Smartcard and NFC chips
- delivering software validation services: unit, system and automated testing
- building and enhancing dedicated testing tools
- adapting and extending embedded software to address the client’s specific requirements
- creating auxiliary software and hardware tools, including hardware models (C-Models) supporting testing and maintenance of development environments
- consulting and implementing modern engineering practices such as Scrum, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
The work was delivered in a team extension model, with Sii teams operating independently within agreed processes and collaborating closely with the client’s product owners.
