Dedicated on-site lead and 25-person Sii team at peak
Sweden-based delegation delivered under high time pressure and changing deliveries
Reliable installation capacity needed for a time-critical project
In Body-in-White line installation projects, precision, safety, and schedule discipline are critical. Delays in mechanical installation can block downstream phases, including automation integration and technical verification. In this project, the client needed an experienced team that could take ownership of mechanical installation within a tight time window and maintain delivery pace despite frequent changes in component delivery schedules.
An additional challenge was execution through a Sweden-based delegation model, which required rapid mobilization, on-site coordination, and the provision of equipment needed for assembly, including forklifts, scissor lifts, tools, social containers, and worker equipment. The client sought an experienced partner able to provide a stable on-site team, adapt to changing project conditions, and complete the installation in line with the evolving schedule. Sii Poland was selected for its hands-on industrial engineering experience, ability to quickly mobilize and scale an on-site mechanical installation team, and flexible approach to adapting work plans when project conditions changed.
On-site mechanical installation of selected line sections
Sii Poland provided an on-site team to deliver the mechanical installation of selected sections of a Body-in-White welding line. The specialists worked across multiple types of line infrastructure components, maintaining the coordination needed to keep installation work moving and prepare the selected line sections for the next stage of the project.
The scope of work included:
- Mechanical installation of selected BIW welding line sections
- Assembly of line elements including around 116 robots, fixtures, grippers, stands, and APC conveyors
- Installation work across 11 PLC zones, with each zone covering different line tasks
- Logistics support, including unloading activities with forklifts
- Delivery in a Sweden-based delegation model under high time pressure and frequent delivery changes
- Provision of forklifts, scissor lifts, tools, social containers, and worker equipment
- Dedicated Sii on-site lead and scaling the on-site team up to 25 people at peak
- Approximately 4 000 labor hours delivered by Sii mechanics over a four-month period
Experienced team and controlled installation delivery
With Sii Poland’s support, the client gained mechanical installation of selected BIW line sections delivered by an experienced on-site team operating under significant time pressure. Securing the necessary equipment and ensuring the continuous presence of a dedicated Sii lead improved on-site coordination and helped sustain delivery continuity despite changes in supply schedules.
Ultimately, the client received mechanically installed line sections within a four-month delivery period, with each zone technically accepted and verified against technical documentation. The project confirmed the effectiveness of Sii’s on-site delivery model for complex industrial installations in the automotive sector.
