Summary
Key results
More efficient processing of evidence materials and reports
Shorter response times of the uniformed services in operational scenarios
Improving data processing and standardizing the interface to increase operational efficiency
Motorola has been delivering solutions supporting communication and operations of public safety organizations for years. As the volume of recordings from field interventions increased, it became essential to improve how this data was organized and processed in order to accelerate analysis and incident reporting. Differences between the interfaces of the tools in use hindered smooth information flow and extended the time required to learn and operate the system.
In dynamic operational environments, it was particularly important to ensure a consistent workspace enabling fast search, tagging, and analysis of evidence materials.
The goal of the project was to create a unified and intuitive user environment combining quick access to materials with a standardized logic of monitoring tools.
Usability research and UX/UI redesign
The Sii Poland team carried out a full design process, including user needs analysis and the development of a consistent interface for monitoring tools.
The scope of work included:
- Conducting user research and usability testing
- Designing a new UX/UI enabling quick and easy capture of key moments from intervention recordings
- Unifying the look and logic of the available tools
- Developing an intuitive interface reducing the time required to learn and operate the system
The project was delivered using the Agile methodology, which enabled continuous validation of concepts with end users and alignment of functionalities with their actual needs. Additionally, Adobe XD was used to support rapid prototyping and realistic presentation of new interface concepts.
Faster operations and improved efficiency of uniformed services
Thanks to the implementation of new UX/UI solutions, Motorola gained a more modern, consistent, and easier-to-maintain environment for its tools, increasing their value for public safety organizations. A unified interface improved user ergonomics and accelerated the search and analysis of recordings, leading to faster incident reporting and more effective operational activities.
The redesigned structure of the evidence database improved data clarity and enhanced the security of data processing. An intuitive interface reduced onboarding time, facilitating the adoption and further development of the solution across different operational environments.
The new interface supports both the efficient work of public safety services and the continued development of Motorola’s solutions, strengthening its position as a technology provider for the public safety sector.
