CFA Society Poland is an organization that focuses on the dissemination and implementation of the highest ethical and educational standards in the field of the investment industry in Poland.
The challenge
Familiarizing the members of the CFA Association together with the Swiss investment bank’s employees with the characteristics of work in IT teams they meet on a daily basis. Dismissing the belief that the world of IT and the world of finance are completely unrelated. Showing finance specialists the IT world and presenting job opportunities in IT sector for people who want to change their career path.
What we did
We examined the needs of the target group conducting a survey among the Swiss investment bank’s employees and members of the CFA Association. As a follow up, we organized a 2-part e-workshop in the form of a webinar on the following issues:
- the specifics of work in IT departments
- selected positions related to the software development environment,
- personality types and competences needed,
- career paths, the use of the skills, competences and knowledge already acquired in the field of finance, and re-skilling.
Effects
Training over 70 individual participants of both parts of the workshop and providing a group of over 200 people with materials in the form of a workshop record and a comprehensive guide with source materials (articles, training) on topics related to job in IT. Defining by participants their development paths and taking the first steps in IT.
