Opening knowledge to the public. Sii Poland launches AI Tour as part of the Pie & AI initiative 

Sii Poland has launched the Sii AI Tour – a series of technical events across major Polish cities, organized as part of the global Pie & AI meetup initiative by DeepLearning.AI. The tour transforms Sii’s thriving internal community of nearly 800 members into an open platform for knowledge sharing. From internal expertise to public knowledge sharing 

With over 50 AI solutions delivered to clients, Sii Poland has established itself as a leader in practical implementation of Artificial Intelligence. The Sii’s AI team has been cultivating expertise through an internal AI Community that hosts bi-monthly lunch talks featuring both internal specialists and external speakers. 

We decided to break the boundaries of our company and start spreading the AI Community outside Sii. The AI Tour represents our commitment to sharing knowledge and fostering innovation across the Polish tech ecosystem – explains Łukasz Biegański, Agile Coach at Sii Poland. – Joining the Pie & AI initiative gives us a platform to reach a broader audience and contribute to the global education movement – he adds.

Pie & AI – connecting local AI communities worldwide 

Pie & AI is a global series of community-organized meetups supported by DeepLearning.AI, the education company founded by pioneer Andrew Ng. Known for courses like the Deep Learning Specialization and AI for Everyone on Coursera, DeepLearning.AI supports local communities focused on Artificial Intelligence through resources and event promotion. 

As part of this initiative, Sii Poland’s AI Tour benefits from the Pie & AI support while maintaining complete autonomy over event content and speaker selection, ensuring the program addresses specific needs of the Polish AI community. 

Warsaw kickoff event – from AI music to Polish language models 

The inaugural AI Tour event took place on May 13, 2025, at Sii’s headquarters in Warsaw, featuring three cutting-edge presentations that demonstrated AI’s diverse applications: 

• AI-composed music album – Jacek Stokowski, AI enthusiast, shared insights from his groundbreaking journey creating the first music album entirely generated by AI, including composition, lyrics, and vocals. His presentation explored the creative possibilities and technical challenges of Artificial Intelligence in artistic expression. 
• Bielik: Polish Large Language Model – Paweł Cyrta, researcher and AI specialist, elaborated on his contributions to developing Bielik, a Polish large language model addressing the critical need for robust, open-source AI tools tailored to Poland’s linguistic and cultural context. This initiative represents a significant step in ensuring AI technologies serve local language communities effectively. 
• Graph RAG systems: buzz versus reality – Konrad Wojciechowski, AI Engineer with over 14 years of experience, presented empirical research confronting the hype around Knowledge Graphs for Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG). Through systematic experiments, he demonstrated where Graph-based RAGs deliver genuine value and where traditional approaches might suffice. 

The diversity of topics – from creative AI applications to language-specific models and cutting-edge RAG architectures – reflects the breadth of AI innovation happening in Poland. Expanding the AI Tour across Poland 

Following the successful Warsaw launch, Sii Poland plans to bring the AI Tour to major cities nationwide. The next event is scheduled for Gdańsk in September or early October 2025, continuing the mission of making high-quality AI knowledge accessible across Poland.
