An international chain of gas stations and convenience stores, headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, and operating worldwide. The company is one of the largest chains in the United States and has around 16 000 convenience stores around the world, employing more than 130 000 people.
The challenge
The client, which has stations in more than 15,000 locations around the world, needed to synchronize the work of many agile international teams. With such a huge scale of operations, the planning and execution of the work was very challenging. The goal of the project was to implement a framework for scaling the agile approach in which all teams would work, and to map the process to the tools used.
What we did
- We led the implementation of the Scaled Agile Framework for 6 teams (60+ people) and provided 3 months of support to introduce the process to the company.
- Increased planning and execution of work, thanks to the training program.
- Organized all events at the level of the Agile Release Train, which is a team connecting all agile teams.
- Provided the service of a Release Train Engineer to ensure that ART is working properly and according to procedures.
- Conducted SAFe training related to the Deployment Roadmap (Leading SAFe, SAFe for Teams).
- Used Atlassian tools to track the progress of the teams.
