Summary
Key results
Successful system go-live for around 200 users
Lower risk through a structured implementation process
Reducing risk across a complex MES implementation
Elis was preparing to implement an MES supporting key operational processes at its Polish facility. The solution was expected to cover production, quality, maintenance, traceability, and reporting, while also integrating with SAP and communicating with other systems.
The main challenge was the lack of internal expertise and experience needed to manage the full implementation lifecycle – from project kick-off through system go-live. The project required close coordination between IT, production, process engineering, and controlling teams and the external system integrator, as well as clear prioritization and well-defined functionality, testing, and acceptance processes.
For the client, the priority was to reduce implementation risk and launch a fully functional solution aligned with its business and operational expectations. Elis therefore engaged Sii Poland to manage the entire implementation process.
End-to-end management from kick-off to go-live
Sii Poland provided a Project Manager responsible for the entire DELMIA Apriso MES implementation – from project kick-off through production go-live.
The scope included:
- Technical and functional coordination of the entire implementation process
- Work organization, meeting facilitation, and management of project priorities and activities
- Data analysis, process mapping, requirements analysis, and refinement of system functionality
- Coordination of the MES integration with SAP and communication with other systems within the project scope
- Definition of testing and acceptance scope
- Introduction of a backlog, sprints, Agile ceremonies, Definition of Done, and a regular reporting cadence
- Process facilitation to support collaboration between the teams involved in the implementation
By combining project management with technical and process expertise, Sii Poland coordinated every stage of the initiative – from defining priorities and requirements through integrations and testing to system go-live.
Lower risk and a structured implementation process
End-to-end project management by Sii Poland gave Elis a structured approach to the implementation and established a clear cadence for collaboration between the client’s teams & the external system integrator. Clear priorities and well-defined functionality, testing and acceptance processes reduced risk and helped ensure the solution met the client’s business and operational expectations.
By combining project management, technical, and process expertise, Sii Poland was able to translate the organization’s needs into specific system functionality and validate it before go-live. As a result, Elis launched a fully functional system supporting key processes at its Polish facility, integrated with SAP and connected to other systems within the project scope.
Key results
- Fully functional system launched at the Polish facility
- Around 200 people involved in the project
- Lower risk through a structured implementation process
- Support for key operational processes and integration with SAP
