One integration foundation prepared for the client’s future system landscape
More consistent communication between key business application
One platform for a growing system landscape
As a manufacturer, Knauf operates at scale and manages a broad portfolio of products, production sites, and business processes. In such an environment, key systems must exchange data in a consistent and reliable way to support sales, product information, and supply chain operations.
In its broader digital transformation, Knauf also needed to introduce a next-generation integration platform. The change was driven by three priorities: CRM unification toward Salesforce, introduction of a product information management solution, and establishment of product supply chain management. To move these initiatives forward, the enterprise needed strong execution and a partner able to create the right technical setup from the start.
MuleSoft designed for gradual intuitive scaling
The goal of the project was to prepare a stable environment that could support new business platforms and future communication across the system landscape.
Sii supported the early phase of the integration program from end to end. The work covered platform setup, automation, requirements support, integration delivery, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
The scope of Sii’s work included:
- MuleSoft Anypoint Platform – configuring core components and automation needed for integration delivery
- Requirements support – participating in requirements specification for connected business systems
- Integration design and development – designing, building, and delivering integration components for enterprise applications
- Team enablement – training internal teams on how to work with the new environment in daily operations
- Competency building – supporting the development of in-house MuleSoft knowledge and delivery capabilities
By combining platform setup with delivery support and knowledge transfer, Sii helped establish an operating model suited to long-term integration work.
A scalable base for future integrations
Sii gave the manufacturer a structured base for the next stage of system landscape development. This was important not only for current delivery needs, but also for future changes involving customer management, human resources and people management, product data, as well as logistics and supply chain processes.
The new setup improved readiness to connect key enterprise applications through one consistent approach. Instead of treating integrations as isolated technical tasks, the business gained a scalable model that supports further changes across multiple areas.
Sii also helped strengthen internal capabilities around MuleSoft. This reduced dependency on external support in day-to-day work and gave the enterprise a stronger starting point for continuing its integration program with greater control and continuity.
