Why take this course

If you are an experienced software tester and want to expand your knowledge of AI testing, this training is for you. It will introduce you to key concepts and methods in the field of artificial intelligence, enabling you to effectively test AI-based systems and prepare you for the ISTQB® Specialist Level – AI Testing exam.

What you'll learn

  • You will prepare for the ISTQB® Specialist Level – AI Testing exam.
  • You will learn the basic concepts, methods, and processes related to AI, as described in the ISTQB® – AI Testing syllabus.
  • You will gain knowledge about AI testing and the use of AI in testing.
  • You will be able to identify quality characteristics specific to artificial intelligence.
  • You will learn about various methods and techniques for testing AI-based systems.

Who this course is for

This training is intended for experienced software testers who are preparing for the exam and want to obtain the ISTQB® Specialist Level – AI Testing certificate.

Training Scope

Day 1: Foundations, Quality, and Introduction to Machine Learning

  • Chapter 1: Introduction to AI (Generative AI, regulations, key differences)
  • Chapter 2: Quality Characteristics (ISO 25059, acceptance criteria)
  • Chapter 3 (Part 1): Introduction to Machine Learning, ML workflow, neural networks

Day 2: Advanced Machine Learning and Testing Strategies

  • Chapter 3 (Part 2): Completing the ML fundamentals (confusion matrix, performance metrics, training data)
  • Chapter 4: Testing AI Systems (challenges, GenAI/LLM testing, Red Teaming)
  • Chapter 7: ML Development Testing (covered slightly earlier, as it provides a natural conclusion to testing strategies before moving into data-specific details)

Day 3: Data, Models, and Advanced Techniques

  • Chapter 5: Testing Input Data for Machine Learning Systems (bias, data pipelines)
  • Chapter 6: Testing ML Models (metamorphic testing, adversarial attacks, overfitting and underfitting)

Additional information

  • ISTQB® Foundation Level Certificate
  • Experience in software testing
  • Knowledge of English-language testing terminology promoted by the ISTQB® organization

Exam

Exam language: English

Test, 40 questions, scored from 1 to 2 points.
The maximum number of points that can be obtained is 47.
Pass mark: 31 (65%) points.
Duration: 75 min.
