At this moment the system used for project management also has functionalities that enable task and calendar management, reporting of work time, and management of the budget for project implementation.
The new platform to be implemented will take over a significant number of functionalities related to the management of projects and organizational structure, while financial management will still be carried out using the current system.
The planned transfer of functionalities for project management onto the new platform, and retaining the old system for the financial management of projects created the need to ensure the project’s metadata synchronization between the existing and new platforms.
What we did
For the existing system Sii has designed and implemented a new communication module based on Web Services with back-end applications in the Client’s network. We prepared a technical project, and designed 2 new Web Services and 6 operations enabling data collection from the system, and their update. In addition, we provided support during implementation in the production environment.
We have delivered services enabling the creation and update of the project’s metadata, access to basic information on project budget via the new system, access to information on the status of selected objects related to project budget (e.g. status of approval for expenditure plan), and the option to synchronize metadata with data dictionaries used in the existing systems.
