Momentum is building, following the successful Poland–Taiwan Economic Forum in Taipei, attended by Secretary of State Michał Jaros and a delegation of 80 Polish business leaders. Polish officials are exploring ways to adapt the proven Hsinchu Science Park model, Taiwan’s crown jewel of semiconductor development, to strengthen Poland’s position in the global value chain.

This vision is now considered a blueprint for Poland’s Special Economic Zones, and discussions are already underway among key stakeholders, ranging from regional investment agencies to Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Successful collaboration with a Taiwanese semiconductor leader

Building on this expertise, Sii Poland delivers high-value projects for leading players in the global semiconductor industry. One example is the cooperation with MediaTek, a world-class semiconductor company recognized for its innovative system-on-chip (SoC) solutions that power smartphones, tablets, smart home devices, and automotive systems. 

In this project, Sii Poland’s team of Embedded Developers, with extensive TELCO expertise, delivered critical services involving advanced modem technologies for next-generation chipsets. The primary mission was to analyze and coordinate the 3GPP modem protocols (NR/LTE/UMTS/GSM with advanced features) used in the company’s latest chipsets. The Sii Team focused on modem interface and performance analysis (DATA, CALL, IMS) while coordinating the implementation of both customer and operator requirements. 

Next step – SEMICON Taiwan 2025 

With the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) planning to host a Polish Pavilion at SEMICON Taiwan in September, opportunities for bilateral collaboration are set to grow, especially in chip design support, AI enablement, and joint R&D initiatives.
