Management by Objectives in Practice

Training language: PL

  • The number of participants 8-15 people
  • Duration 1 day

Why take this course

In many organizations, goals exist formally but fail to function effectively in day-to-day operations. They are often too general, inconsistent across departments, or disconnected from the realities of everyday work. As a result, organizations experience conflicting priorities, excessive reporting, and a lack of true accountability for results.

This training will show you how to build goals that:

  • Are clearly understood by teams.
  • Support the organization’s strategy.
  • Translate into operational activities.
  • Help people make better decisions.
  • Have a measurable impact on business performance.

You will learn a model in which:

  • Goals are cascaded top-down (strategy → processes → teams).
  • Accountability and reporting flow bottom-up (monitoring → feedback → adjustment).

The course is highly practical and workshop-oriented. Participants work on real-life examples and their own organizational challenges.

What you'll learn

During the training, you will learn how to:

  • Recognize the causes of ineffective goal-setting systems.
  • Distinguish between challenges, tasks, and goals.
  • Properly define operational and strategic objectives.
  • Cascade goals from the organizational level to teams.
  • Select KPIs that support goal achievement.
  • Build goals using the SMART+ methodology.
  • Identify barriers to goal achievement.
  • Prepare response and corrective-action scenarios.
  • Establish effective monitoring and reporting routines.
  • Design a structured Management by Objectives (MBO) system.

Certification & Exam

Upon completion of the training, participants will receive:

  • A certificate of completion.
  • Workshop materials.
  • A goal-setting system checklist.
  • Supporting templates for implementing the M3P model within their organization.

Knowledge acquisition is assessed through:

  • Practical workshop exercises.
  • Work on real-life examples.
  • A final assignment involving the development of a draft goal management system for the participant’s own organizational area.

There is no formal final exam.
