As a part of its CSR actions, the Sii company will give away educational LEGO sets to selected primary schools in Wroclaw. The equipment will help children learn the basics of programming and engineering. The company will also train teachers on how to take full advantage of LEGO sets during classes with students. The action is carried out by the Wrocław branch of the company.
Three primary schools included in the program are schools enrolled by Sii employees. The institutions were verified for their engagement and motivation to cooperate.
Selected primary schools will receive Lego WeDo 2.0 sets, which are of great help in teaching programming and at the same time bring a lot of fun. To maintain a high level of the classes, on the 6th of May, teachers from schools involved in the action will participate in a special training. Our initiative is a long term project. Every semester over a 1000 children will use the equipment. We hope that other IT companies will follow our footsteps – says Paweł Maksymczak, Sii Wrocław director.
Teachers participating in the workshops with Lego, will learn how to use the equipment, and will get to know class scenarios, which can be later used at school. Educational sets of building blocks help develop skills in the area of science, basics of programming and engineering.
The action is carried out also inside of the company. Since March children of Sii Wrocław employees have been participating in cyclic programming classes.
For several years now the Wroclaw branch of Sii has been also supporting the Wrocław ZOO. The company is the inventor, creator and sponsor of a dedicated application – the mobile map of the zoological garden in Wroclaw.
